Beatles Yellow Submarine

The story line of Yellow Submarine has the Beatles traveling to Pepperland to save the citizens from the nasty music-hating, color-hating, everything-hating Blue Meanies and their arsenal of henchmen (Apple-Bonkers-Flying Glove-Snapping Turtle Turks-Jack The Nipper-Hidden Persuaders and Butterfly Stomper). On their way to Pepperland the Beatles run into several unusual situations in the "Sea of Holes, "Sea of Time" and other places while encountering a host of animated characters such as the U.S. Cavalry, King Kong, Frankenstein, Nowhere Man, Father Mackenzie, and Lucy. Yellow Submarine is an animated, psychedelic, adventure that fills the screen with vibrant colors, timeless animation and of course great Beatles music. The film premiered at the London Pavilion on Wednesday, 17 July 1968 to immediate critical acclaim. Directed by George Dunning. Written by Al Brodax, Jack Mendelsohn, Lee Minoff, and Erich Segal, based on the song "Yellow Submarine" by John Lennon and Paul McCartney. With the voices of Paul Angelis, Peter Batten, John Clive, Geoffrey Hughes, and Lance Percival.
