MAGICAL HISTORY TOUR
The Beatles magical history tour(start chorus)
step up get your tickets right here
the show is leaving the station
step up for a lifetime of cheer.
The lads are waiting for your hand
the magical history tour is today
Fab Four memories coming at you
step up, step up and don't delay.(end chorus)
When you think about the Beatles
you think their Sgt Pepper's band
when you think about the early days
you think I Want To Hold Your Hand.
When you think about John
you think Give Peace A Chance
when you think about his message
All You Need Is Love is his dance.
When you think about Paul
you think about his Yesterday
when you think about his message
remember what Let It Be says.
When you think about George
you think Here Comes The Sun
when you think about his message
George's My Sweet Lord is the one.
The Beatles Magical History Tour
When you think about Ringo
you think his solo drums in The End
when you think about the message
With A Little Help From My Friends.
When you think about the Beatles
you think, smile, and want more
when you think about their legacy
what's to say, they're the Fab Four.
(repeat chorus)
AUNT MIMI'S MENDIPS
Since five Mendips was John's home
in Liverpool on Menlove Avenue
with aunt Mimi and uncle George
that's where John Lennon grew.
Father Fred left John for the sea
lost his mother Julia, made him blue
attended Quarry Bank Grammar School
always crazy pranks and trouble too.
Little Johnny do your homework (start chorus)
little Johnny put down that guitar
little Johnny there is no hope
music will never make you a star.
Mimi said to learn those rules
drinking and smoking ain't cool
forget about that silly rock n roll
little Johnny don't be a fool.(end chorus)
John loved art and yearned to write
creating his own The Daily Howl books
hanging out with best friend Peter
when skiffle came they were hooked.
Gathered his school friends into a band
practiced for the Woolton Church show
Quarry Men were outside on a stage
John sang and Paul watched below.
(repeat chorus)
And so the great meeting took place
forming the Lennon McCartney team
the rest is music history we all know
Aunt Mimi was wrong so it seemed.
From the brick walls of Mendips
rose a rock n roll man for all to see
Aunt Mimi's little Johnny laughed
showed her how great he could be.
(start chorus)
WHEN JOHN MET PAUL
It was July, a sunny afternoon
John's sciffle band was on the stage
Woolton church paid them to sing
John's checkered shirt was all the rage.
Ivan brought his friend Paul
they both watched the band sing
songs with freshly made up words
the music had a friendly ring.
The outdoor session was over
so they moved their gear inside
for another show in the evening
sipping beer they had to hide.
Paul was fifteen but took a sip
then played the piano keys
John looked over Paul's shoulder
seems John was very pleased.
Quarry Men hot summer days (start chorus)
and those hazy Liverpool docks
Woolton St. Peter's church
was the start of British rock.
The day that John met Paul
music was turned upside down
it was only a small beginning
of the famous Liverpool sound.(end chorus)
Paul got up and grabbed a guitar
on Twenty Flight Rock he ruled
with the guitar upside down
John thought Paul was pretty cool.
Teddy Boy John was nobody's fool
and recognized Paul's Elvis look
John knew Paul was very good
Paul was looking for a band to hook.
John thought "Paul's as good as me"
didn't know if he would remain king
but wanted his group to be stronger
decided to take Paul under his wings.
Paul knew John was knocked out
by his guitar playing and voice
was happy when John did ask
and next day made his choice.
(Repeat chorus)
HAMBURG DAYS
Grab a seat, stick around
the best beat, the best sound
Bruno's latest Indra Club band
in Hamburg to lay it down.
John singing, licking his lips
eatin chicken trying to be hip
sometimes his language slips
Paul laughs and takes a sip.
With skin stretched tight
he bangs the big beat right
he's the drummer, Pete's tight
Pete, those Bambi Kino nights.
Man they ain't no fools
with lyrics so very cool
this band has all the tools
the fab Kaiserkeller band.
Guitar rifts rise and fall
piercing the Top Ten walls
Horst is protecting his boys
too young George, having a ball.
Only left handed guitar around
Paul's bass thumps and pounds
Manfred's Star Club is so hot
loves the fresh Liverpool sound
So sit back, stomp and clap
Hamburg has something to cheer
the lads from Liverpool are here
pass the laughs and more beer.
They'll make a show for a price
this fresh, young Liverpool band
like sweet sugar with some spice
fab gear Hamburg Days at hand.
THE CAVERN CLUB
The Quarrymen played the Cavern Club
in fifty-seven they punched the clock
played some Elvis Presley numbers
was told to cut out the bloody rock.
The Cavern was an old wine cellar
located in the heart of liverpool
started wanting a jazz only beat
ended up a place where rock ruled.
Leather suits and sweaty walls (start chorus
four young liverpool lads had a ball
in a noisy, dim, damp cellar hole
a fresh new sound enjoyed by all.
Jingle, jangle, pop, that special sound
finger snaps and harmonies that soared
the Fab Four kept Cavern dwellers around
with claps, yeah yeahs, and more.(end chorus)
The Beatles played the Cavern Club
for the first time in nineteen sixty-one
got about 25 shillings for their pay
Mathew street fame had just begun.
Discovered on a fateful hunch by Brian E
a record store owner with a good eye
signed a contract to manage his boys
Eppy made them his number one prize.
(repeat chorus)
Brian made them change their clothes
clean their act, find a recording home
replaced Pete with Ringo's sticks
got a deal from George at Parlophone.
Their first, Love Me Do was too slow
but their recording career had begun
George recorded the next one faster
Please Please Me became number one.
(repeat chorus)
LIVERPOOL SCENE
The beat scene was really hopping
the night clubs were full as could be
the Beatles headlined the Cavern Club
but there were other bands to see.
The Undertakers Jackie and Chris
were really one of Liverpools first
the Big Three with Some Other Guy
showed there was a Mersey thirst.
Don't forget the Jacaranda scene
Litherland Town Hall was around
Pete's mom had the Casbah club
all shared the Mersey Beat sound.
The Fourmost with those soft harmonies
took John and Paul's Hello Little Girl song
showed the world more of the Mersey sound
and let Liverpool know that they belonged.
Flashy clothes and wailing voices(start chorus)
thumping drums set the Mersey beat
smooth harmonies and mighty guitars
club dwellers just couldn't find a seat.
Clubs were packed with Liverpool youth
a new sound had opened up their ears
Mersey beats, that fresh Liverpool sound
was what the world wanted to hear. (end chorus)
The Swinging Blue Jeans were around
gave us their great Hippy Hippy Shake
they headlined the Mardis Gras Club
where more great music they did make.
Rory Storm and his red suited Hurricanes
Billy and his Dakotas were on the move
Merseybeats said It's Love That Really Counts
so many bands so many great grooves.
(repeat chorus)
CHARLIE O
Kansas City kids could not believe
the Beatles were on their way to play
Charles Finley said he would get them
though their tour had no open days.
Finley put his Beatles wig on for fun
opened up his check book real wide
Brian asked, the Beatles said no
An offer the press could not hide.
Rock'n roll Charlie O(start chorus)
the Beatles are coming to KC town
with a Yeah Yeah Yeah for all to hear
laying down that sweet fab four sound.
Rock'n roll Charlie O
your check book made the boys smile
Rock'n roll Rock'n roll Charlie O
for KC you went the extra mile.(end chorus)
So Charles rolled up his baseball sleeves
made a historic record offer of dollars
and with the stroke of his mighty pen
Brian's four boys gave out a holler.
Kansas City here we come
they have some crazy Beatles fans
and we're going to have some fun
hey hey Charlie O your're the man.
So little advance notice of the concert
tickets needed much more time to sell
Charles Finley went in the big time red
but Kansas City fans were in a spell.
The Beatles really cranked up the sound
took a record 150 grand
September sixty-four was that special time
Charles kept his promise to the KC fans.
(repeat full chorus)
Rock'n roll Rock'n roll Charlie O(short chorus)
the Beatles are coming to KC town
with a Yeah Yeah Yeah for all to hear
laying down that sweet fab four sound.(end short chorus)
SHEA 65
Twist and Shot and I Feel Fine(start chorus)
Dizzy Miss Lizzy and Ticket To Ride
Can't Buy Me Love to I'm Down
Fan's emotions just cannot hide.
A Hard Day's Night was just ahead
I Wanna Be Your Man they said
Help and their Baby's In Black
So much screaming in my head.(end chorus)
Hot August night in 1965
the Beatles said give us the stage
the Mets were not playing at Shea
the Fab Four were all the rage.
The first stadium concert in history
fifty-five thousand screaming fans
a flashy helicopter ride in the sky
they arrived in a Wells Fargo van.
The Rascals and King Kurtis were there
the Headhunters and Holloway too.
Ed Sullivan talks, the concert began
the fab tan uniforms were so cool.
Yes, they were honored by their country
even were decorated by their Queen
but they were America's band tonight
it was a sight that had to be seen.
Crys and tears mixed with smiles
A happy, crazy scene all around
the police with cotton in their ears
so much shouting, so little sound.
Twelve oh so short fabulous songs
Only a half hour of actual singing
but the memories will last forever
will always have our heads ringing.
(repeat chorus)
ABBEY ROAD
Resting in St. John's wood
carrying the number three
the Abbey Road Studio
became the place to be.
Sixties had Shirley Bassey
Cliff Richard's Shadows too.
Home of the Beatles first
a song called Love Me Do
Oh what those walls did hear(start short chorus)
the laughter, the music, the tears
some good notes, some not in tune
fab music made for our ears.(end short chorus)
George Martin took their hand
guided them to a number one
shaped them into a right fit band
Abbey Road was their new home.
Manfred Mann, and the Hollies
the Seekers, Cilia Black and more
Gerry and his fab Pacemakers
came knocking at Abbey's door.
Abbey Road was a special place(start short chorus)
history and songs were made
oh if the walls could only talk
take us back to those special days.(end short chorus)
Sixty-seven, colorful Studio one
a show for millions to see
All You Need Was Love
John sang, the world believed
Sixty-seven Sgt Pepper was born
the Beatles were number one again
but 1970 was their last recording
I Me Mine was the Beatles end.
Oh what those walls did hear(start full chorus)
the laughter, the music, the tears
some good notes, some not in tune
fab music made for our ears.
Abbey Road was a special place
history and songs were made
oh if the walls could only talk
take us back to those special days.(end full chorus)
STRAWBERRY FIELD
Resting behind fancy red iron gates
place where orphan hearts roam
a charity in Woolton Liverpool
around the corner from John's home.
Beatles made this place famous
released John's masterpiece song
John's psychedelic field trip
Strawberry Fields can't be wrong.
Strawberry Fields where nothing is real(start chorus)
where hearts and minds are free
Strawberry Field where children play
in the flowered fields with trees.
Strawberry Field will soothe your soul
when cool soft summer rain begins
Strawberry Fields can be forever
just open your heart and sing.(end chorus)
Let the song take you down there
to that home that saves the heart
behind those red locked gates
where orphans get a start.
There is nothing to get hung about
the world goes round and round
children become adults and die
just listen to life's sweet sound,
(repeat chorus)
Strawberry Fields, Strawberry Fields
where children laugh and play
where John's spirit still lingers
in the field where his dreams lay.
Strawberry Fields where the spirit rests
a memorial garden in New York City
where grown-ups laugh and pray
isn't it a pity, isn't it a pity.
(repeat chorus)
WHO WAS THE WALRUS?
Who was the Walrus?
it should be plain to see
let's look at the clues
who will the Walrus be?
The song was written by John
so he gets the first vote
though he changed his mind
in Glass Onion take note.
The Walrus was Paul
having a giggle, a laugh
that is what John said
but the question didn't pass.
John decided to honor Paul
let the Walrus name go to him
but was this an honest answer
or was it done on a whim?
But then John spoke his mind
in the song "God" he did say
I was The Walrus, now I'm John
so I guess that's how it will stay.
The Walrus, John or Paul
will we ever really know?
it has been such great fun
just enjoy the show.
APPLE BOUTIQUE
Beautiful things Paul said
67 opened the door
fabulous clothing for all
the Apple Boutique store.
Apple juice as the toast
John smiles looks around
Ringo didn't even come
George drank the juice down.
Beautiful things for all (start chorus)
Baker street London Town
psychedelic art and more
clothing and fools abound.
Beautiful lady on the wall
started the 7 month fall
so goes this fab gear store
poor poor beautiful Paul. (end chorus)
Apple store closed it's door
beautiful things given away
the fools worked no more
many egos got in the way.
Beatles magic failed the test
an idea they couldn't save
stuck to making their songs
went back to being the rave.
(repeat chorus)
RISHIKESH 68
Beatles searching for inner peace
went to India to study meditation
seeking out their spiritual side
fab four into the Rishikesh sun.
68 they dropped out to drop in
looking for some peace and quiet
George found more than the others
John thought something wasn't right.
searching for here and there(start chorus)
seaching for the inner-light to begin
searching for that message of truth
searching for the light at the end.(end chorus)
Beatles created many new songs
17 White album tunes so far
the Beach Boys sent Mike Love
Sunshine Superman taught guitar.
Dear Prudence and Mia began to smile
Guru and George found their groove
Ringo yawned, was the first to leave
John next, didn't like Yogi's moves.
(repeat chorus)
WHEN JOHN MET YOKO
Strolled into the Indica Gallery
some Japanese girl doing an event
John in an unshaven, tatty state
opened the door and off he went.
A private showing just for John
down stairs were nails to pound
Yoko's card made John breathe
pretty cool so kept looking around.
Didn't take concept art as being real
saw a ladder and started to climb
at the top was a spyglass and sign
it read YES, and blew his mind.
Yes was such a positive word (start chorus)
Yes opened the door, saved the day
Yoko and John began to smile
Yoko and John were on their way.
In a room with apples and nails
the song man and the artist met
two people, two different worlds
a day they would never forget. (end chorus)
A smile appeared on John's face
Yes was such a positive thought
driving imaginary nails into apples
clever so nothing had to be bought.
She got it, he got it, this they knew
enjoying this word game show
both were shy, and words were small
thoughts of love take time to grow.
Time passed before two became one
but that first meeting was the key
a small word like YES did the trick
John and Yoko began to see.
(repeat chorus)
TITTENHURST PARK
Tittenhurst Park bought by John in 69

Imagine 4 lads posing for Hey Jude
remember it all, imagine, just imagine.(end chorus)
Place of the last Beatles photo shoot
beneath pillars surrounded by busts
took the garden path by weeping cedars
John and Yoko thought donkeys a must.
John and George wore large cowboy hats
Yoko and glowing Linda were there
four legends behind the tall cricket grass
Derek and Martha with her long hair.
(Repeat Chorus)
