Look out song-poem and Beatles fans as a batch of fresh songs bring those British Invasion days back into full swing. "Walrus" teams up veteran writer/arranger/artist Gary Murtha with two very special artists, David Fox and David Dubowski. "Walrus" is a special hat tip to that little band called the Beatles. Two of the songs "Liverpool Lads" and Tangerine Days" cover the Beatles career in music. "When John Met Paul" is a foot tapping, catchy song about that special day of 6 July, 1957. "Walrus" and "Strawberry Walrus" take a look at the question of "Who was the Walrus?" "Your Everything" takes a Lennon quote and creates a song around it. The song "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" takes a fresh look at this famous title. This one will have you humming. From start to finish a solid and entertaining lineup of music. There are little ditties/bits to look for as well, like a section of backward recording. The entire finished product, from cd cover artwork, to liner notes, back tray information, label art, cd mastering, burning, assembly, and packaging are all done by Gary Murtha making this a truly independent, one-of-a-kind, custom cd. So grab that incense, put on those tie-dyes, and find those beads as those groovy days of the 60's and 70's have returned. This is a nice red CD-R disc. with custom color label.

Twelve songs and three instrumentals take us back to those early days of the Beatles.

It was a time of happiness, sadness, musical explosion, pain, and love. It was a time of peace and war. It was the days of our youth. It was the time of the

WALRUS
Who was the Walrus?
it should be plain to see
let's look at the clues
who will the Walrus be?

The song was written by John
so he gets the first vote
though he changed his mind
in Glass Onion take note.

The Walrus was Paul
having a giggle, a laugh
that is what John said
but the question didn't pass.

Expert textpert, choking smokers(start chorus
I am the eggman will never bore
sitting on a cornflake, oh boy
crabalocker fishcake and more.

Yellow matter custard
man can that be right?
elementary penguins
keeps us laughing all night.(end chorus)

John decided to honor Paul
let the Walrus name go to him
but was this an honest answer
or was it done on a whim?

But then John spoke his mind
in the song "God" he did say
I was The Walrus, now I'm John
so I guess that's how it will stay.

The Walrus, John or Paul
will we ever really know?
it has been such great fun
just enjoy the show.

(Repeat Chorus)

WHEN JOHN MET PAUL
It was July, a sunny afternoon
John's sciffle band was on the stage
Woolton church paid them to sing
John's checkered shirt was all the rage.

Ivan brought his friend Paul
they both watched the band sing
songs with freshly made up words
the music had a friendly ring.

The outdoor session was over
so they moved their gear inside
for another show in the evening
sipping beer they had to hide.

Paul was fifteen but took a sip
then played the piano keys
John looked over Paul's shoulder
seems John was very pleased.

Quarry Men hot summer days (start chorus)
and those hazy Liverpool docks
Woolton St. Peter's church
was the start of British rock.

The day that John met Paul
music was turned upside down
it was only a small beginning
of the famous Liverpool sound.(end chorus)

Paul got up and grabbed a guitar
on Twenty Flight Rock he ruled
with the guitar upside down
John thought Paul was pretty cool.

Teddy Boy John was nobody's fool
and recognized Paul's Elvis look
John knew Paul was very good
Paul was looking for a band to hook.

John thought "Paul's as good as me"
didn't know if he would remain king
but wanted his group to be stronger
decided to take Paul under his wings.

Paul knew John was knocked out
by his guitar playing and voice
was happy when John did ask
and next day made his choice.

(Repeat chorus)

I WANNA HOLD YOUR HAND
I wanna hold your hand(start chorus)
I wanna hold your hand
walk with you on life's path tonight
I wanna hold your hand
I wanna hold your hand
I wanna hold your hand so tight(end chorus)

They say there is but one
they say that there is just one
please tell me your are here to stay
please tell me you are the one.

Remember the day we met
remember the day we met
a new beginning in everyway
a new life's path was set.

Time does not matter at all
time does not matter at all
when we are together time stops
everyday and loving it all.

(Repeat chorus)

We share so many good days
we share so many good days
when we're together rains goes away
everyday becomes a good day.

So please hold on to my hand
so please hold on to my hand
together forever in our land
please let me hold you hand.

And when we are old and grey
and when we are old and grey
we'll look back and cherish each day
holding our hands all the way.

(Repeat chorus)

TANGERINE DAYS
Looking back at those groovy days of youth
times seemed to be full of fab gear sounds
as Mersey beats invaded our pocket radios
mop top hair and pointed boots all around.

Four young lads led a musical revolution
lucy with her diamonds rising so high
blackbirds, cold turkey, yellow custard
tangerine dreams with marshmellow pies.

Summer rain fell across the universe
sounds of sweet honey pie for you blue
nothings gonna change our world we thought
forever strawberrys were made just for you.

Sometimes life made it hard to let it be
and the taxman seemed to want it all
but doctor Roberts and the Walrus arrived
and showed us all how to have a ball.

So is this a hello or goodbye for you?
tomorrow never knows if you've been
so gather lots of flowers along the way
and of course a little help from your friends.

And when good morning turns to good night
and the old brown shoe begins to fall
we will always remember those crazy days
come together and share being part of it all.

Special memories from me to you
tangerine dreams, love was all around
dancing, holding hands, singing a tune
those special days with special sounds.

Incense, tie-dye, and those fabulous beads
beautiful words making a beautiful sound
four special lads just having some fun
tangerine days, sure glad I was around.

FLOWER POWER
(Instrumental)

STRAWBERRY WALRUS
Who was the Walrus?
we may never know
the man in the bright red field
or from yesterdays show?

You can look in the sky and see
strawberrys there for the taking
it can be what you want it to be
your Walrus is just awaking

The Walrus is gonna get you
better hold on to what you've got
the Walrus will let you
find out what you're not.

Strawberrys floating in the stream(start chorus)
the Walrus is on the move
strawberrys in a field of green
the Walrus is in his groove(end chorus)

Karma can be so very real
take you down a winding road
life can hide what you really feel
welcome to the Walrus's abode.

Magical is the Walrus's power
with strawberry fields all aglow
the sky is alive with diamond showers
welcome to the Walrus's show.

The Walrus will caress you
take you to another time and place
the Walrus may make you blue
as your mind begins to replace.

(Repeat Chorus)

MAGICAL PEPPERLAND
All aboard, all aboard. We will depart soon with stops at Liverpool, Sea of Holes, Sea of Time, and Pepperland. It's a groove when we begin to move so grab that seat and get ready to meet.....tomorrow.

Butterfy stomper creatures
and Snapping Turtle Turks
the villagers have turned to stone
what has happened to the mirth?

Meanie Meanies everywhere
with not a drop of love to share
Jeremy Jeremy where is the band
that will save Magical Pepperland?

It's just another day in Pepperland
the Meanies are on the move
it's just another day in Pepperland
where is Jeremy the Boob?

Jeremy is a master (start chorus)
he'll teach you why you're wrong
Nowhere Man has the answers
or knows where they have gone.

Jeremy teach us what you know
to make and watch the flowers grow
a new world has just begun
all we need is love and sun.(end chorus)

Lucy in the sky flashing diamonds
Captain Fred must find his boat
the Blue Meanies keep up the attack
why is Meanie Max such a dope?

Apple Bonkers on the move
everyone scurrying around
the Flying Glove is in the sky
searching for someone to pound.

It's just another day in Pepperland
the Meanies are on the move
it's just another day in Pepperland
where is Jeremy the Boob?

(Repeat Chorus)

Silly little people in a silly little land looking for that perfect world that no one understands. What if we all just laugh together, end this silly world of hate and go to Pepperland and share eachothers fate? Flowers blooming all around and smiles are all aglow. Jeremy finds his groove and love begins to grow. Silly little dreamers in a silly little land. Silly little dreamers get their wish in Magical Pepperland.

THIS CAN BE DONE
Woke up this morning
smile upon my face
love has kept me warm
thoughts of satin and lace.

We met in the park
pushed the clouds away
laughed until dark
you asked me to stay.

Your smile is the sun
your thoughts are of joy
your hair sweet perfume
to this lucky boy.

We'll never be blue(Start Chorus)
and it will be fun
long as I'm with you
this can be done.

It's a beautiful day
just look at the sun
forever we two
this can be done.(End Chorus)

Life was so very sad
everything was all wrong
things always seemed bad
until you came along.

Remember your smile
the tilt of your head
sparkle in your eyes
the poetry you read.

Words lifted my head
we sat on the ground
fed the ducks some bread
love was all around.

(Repeat Chorus)

Plans made for the day
what should we do
love's here to stay
one and one be two.

We return to the park
walking hand in hand
we continue our talk
the ducks form a band.

Quack quack for a bun
sun shines from above
life's suddenly fun
this is it, this is love.

(Repeat Chorus)

#10 DREAM
(Instrumental)

LIVERPOOL LADS
Hey, make a show make a show
that's what the German owner said
so John became all the rage
with a toilet seat round his head.

but all were not legal nor ready
had to pack their bags late at night
and of all the things lit a rubber
to try and have a light.

Pete was hoping to stay on the bus
but Ringo quickly took his seat
the band headlined the Cavern Club
and their career never missed a beat.

The fab four are forever(start chorus)
they have stood the test of time
they set the world on a high
always opened up our minds.

So heres to you four lads
a toast for all those songs
your were part of our lives
through all the rights and wrongs.(end chorus)

John Paul George Ringo was the band
fond memories for Stu and Pete
showed the world at every turn
that they was the band to beat.

They told us that our bird was green
that broken wings could learn to fly
apples could be used for records
how about some white honey pie.

Took us on a magical mystery tour
Nowhere Man made us laugh and cry
showed us all we needed was love
told us not to let our dreams die.

(Repeat Chorus)

So does it really matter
if the walrus was John or Paul?
what about all the lonely people
and Eleanor's poor face in a jar.

Who knew eight days were in a week
or that living was a hard day's night?
that life could be a long winding road
that Strawberry Fields was oh so right.

Sgt Pepper was the leader of the band
shouting peace and love for all
all they wanted was to hold your hand
they were John George Ringo and Paul!

(Repeat Chorus)

YOUR EVERYTHING
They say life is what happens
while you're making other plans
you feel it's just the opposite
you should do it anyway you can.

You seem to chase many many dreams
a new one happens almost every day
but remember that many schemes
have a very steep price to pay.

So fly as high as any eagle
take that trip to the moon
remember I'll always be waiting
for you to come home real soon.

I too have my hopes and dreams(start chorus)
and each day I cross my fingers
for each night I never know
if I will still be remembered

live your life close to the sun
chase all of your many dreams
but please never ever forget
I want to be your everything(end chorus)

Win an oscar, be a movie star
the writer you always wanted to be
but when you open your eyes
make sures it's me that you see.

Be the next rock n roll star
chase the glitter of the sound
when you close your eyes at night
just make sure I'm still around.

So fly as high as any eagle
take that trip to the moon
remember I'll always be waiting
for you to come home real soon.

(Repeat Chorus)

WHEN THE WALRUS MET THE BLOSSOM
Seventy-one was the time
when young hearts opened their eyes
seventy-one brought another gift
as a new life began his cry.

Seventy-five another blossom was born
and love's family continued to grow
seventy-five life was still so very young
with a future we did not know.

Scotty, bats, balls, toys and dolls
filled a house with laughter and fun
telephone always alive with calls
never knowing when we had to run.

Funny how small the world can be (start Chorus)
when the heart is allowed to fly
funny how clearly ones eyes can see
when love's smiling face floats by.

A beautiful world soon began
when the Walrus met the blossom
a new world with love in hand
and future as bright as the sun. (end Chorus)

Eighty-two the second of two sons
took his place in the home
eighty-two life was still very young
as new dreams continued to roam.

The family grew and shared
the house was really alive
never could extra time be spared
the family was set at five.

Boots barks, dates arrive, and cars roar
too much to do and not enough time
then suddenly no ringing at the door
graduations leave school days far behind.

(repeat chorus)

Came a time when no dogs barked
a time when the phone no longer rang
came a time when silence was stark
a time when no childrens voices sang.

And as the sun begins to set
and life's book begins to close
the Walrus and the blossom
know their love continues to grow.

Life's poetic mixture feels the cold wind blow
while time is chilling the morning sun
as our twilight years turn to a cold grey snow
our hearts still remain so very young.

(repeat chorus)

IMAGINE PEACE
Anger kills many souls
anger kills many hearts
anger has killed millions
anger tears us apart.

Hate is an evil thing
hate will never heal
hate should be feared
hate can only kill.

Hide the old and wrinkled
hide those sick with disease
hide the poor and homeless
hide so we don't have to see.

Love is the only answer(Start Chorus)
peace can save our heart
love is our only hope
peace if we do our part
love is all we need.(End Chorus)

Old tell young to be quite
young say this is our time
old tell young to move aside
young say that's not fine.

Police always shoving
everyone wants their rights
governments keep on pushing
the world can see no light.

Rich keep getting richer
poor want a piece of the pie
rich throw a few crumbs
poor only see more lies.

(Repeat Chorus)

Just imagine peace, imagine peace.

HAMBURG NIGHTS
(Instrumental)

SHE'S A REAL ...
The woman knows just how to walk
how to make you feel at ease
always lays down a real smooth talk
she pretends to be there to please.

Wearing that tight leather dress
stands of pearls placed oh so right
long slinder legs that pass the test
ruby red lips sparkle in the light.

Wispy yellow hair floats in a breeze
be there for you man, can't you see
you're just what she was looking for
that what she wants you to believe.

She looks so cute and talks so shy
she knows all the right words to say
makes your mind spin and heart cry
what you are seeing is a one act play.

Slides into town in the dark of night(start chorus)
always making her next target twitch
setting them up in her evil sight
ain't she sweet she's a real...

She's done this before, she is a pro
looking for lonely lovers with an itch
never satisfied always looking for more
ain't she sweet she's a real...(end chorus)

Shaven so close looking the best you can
You go in thinking you're smart, so cool
while she busy making her special plans
drive you damn crazy, make you look the fool.

She'll take your heart to her prison
and believe me there ain't no bail
you ain't the first to end up missing
get a life sentence in her personal hell.

So take your money, flash it all around
and show her the very best of times
she loves you so, lay your money down
man, what she does should be a crime.

Drop you like a thousand pound rock
while your head flys halfway to the moon
so hide your heart, the path to hell knocks
better take the bus and leave town real soon.
(Repeat Chorus)
