Happiness Is A Warm Gun
"I think it's a beautiful song. I like all the different things happening in it. Like "God". I had put together some three sections of different songs, it was meant to be-it seemed to run through all the different kinds of rock music." John Lennon
She's not a girl who misses much
Do,do,do,do,do,do...oh, yeah
She's well acquainted
With the touch of the velvet hand
Like a lizard on a window pane
The man in the crowd
With the multi-colored mirrors
On his hobnail boots
Lying with his eyes
While his hands are busy working overtime
A soap impression of his wife
Which he ate and donated
to the National Trust
I need a fix 'cause I'm goin' dowm
Down to the bits that I left uptown
I need a fix 'cause I'm goin' down
Mother Superior jumped the gun
Mother Superior jumped the gun
Mother Superior jumped the gun
Mother Superior jumped the gun
Mother Superior jumped the gun
Mother Superior jumped the gun
Happiness is a Warm Gun
(bang,bang,shoot,shoot)
Happiness is a Warm Gun
(bang,bang,shoot,shoot)
When I hold you in my arms
And I feel my finger on your trigger
I know nobody could do me no harm
Because...Happiness is a Warm Gun
(bang,bang,shoot,shoot)
Happiness is a Warm Gun
(bang,bang,shoot,shoot)
Happiness is a warm yes it is...gun
(bang,bang,shoot,shoot)
Well don't you know that
Happiness is a Warm Gun
(is a warm gun, yeah)
George Martin had shown John the cover of an American gun magazine which had the caption 'Happiness Is A Warm Gun In Your Hand'. John thought it was an outrageous title. "A warm gun means you've just shot something," John said.
This was Paul McCartney's favorite song on the 'White Album'.
